Welcome. Thank you for visiting Excellence in Sport Performance. Our mission is to help good athletes become great athletes. Competitive athletics have inherent challenges like fear of failure, maintaining cofidence, returning from injuries and other adverse situations that must be overcome. Many of these challenges cannot be “fixed” with more physical and technical training. Mental training directly addresses these issues and also teaches the athlete how think, feel and play like a champion.

Erika Carlson, M.A., CC-AASP is a leader in the field of Applied Sport Psychology and has 15 years experience to help improve your mental toughness. She is located in the San Francisco Bay Area but is available worldwide via Skype.

What is mental training? Mental Skills Training (MST) is the application of techniques from the research field of Sport Psychology. Decades of academic and fieldwork studies have revealed how athletes function when they are performing their best. Our job is to teach you how to do just that.
